What Is Profhilo?
Profhilo is a revolutionary injectable treatment that goes beyond traditional dermal fillers and skin boosters. It contains pure, stabilized hyaluronic acid (HA) at two different molecular weights — high molecular weight for sustained hydration and low molecular weight for deep tissue penetration. Unlike fillers that add volume, Profhilo spreads evenly beneath the skin to stimulate the body's own collagen and elastin production.
Mechanism of Action
Profhilo works through a unique process called bio-remodeling. When injected using the patented BAP (Bolus Application Protocol) technique with just 5 injection points per side of the face, the product disperses evenly under the skin like a sheet. It then stimulates four types of collagen (I, III, IV, VII) and elastin, effectively remodeling the extracellular matrix. This leads to progressive improvement in skin firmness, hydration, and elasticity over 4–8 weeks.
Treatment Areas
- Face — overall skin quality improvement, firmness, and radiance
- Neck — tightening and smoothing of crepey skin
- Décolleté — rejuvenation of the chest area
- Hands — restoring volume and improving skin texture
What to Expect
A Profhilo session takes 30–45 minutes. The doctor cleanses the treatment area and marks 5 injection points on each side of the face (for facial treatment). Using a fine needle, small amounts of Profhilo are injected at each point. The product is then gently massaged to ensure even distribution. Most patients experience mild swelling and small bumps at injection sites for 24–48 hours.
Results and Maintenance
Unlike fillers that show immediate results, Profhilo's effects develop progressively. Patients notice improved skin radiance after 2 weeks, with full results visible at 6–8 weeks. The standard protocol is 2 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart, followed by maintenance sessions every 6 months. Many patients report that their skin continues to improve for months after completing the initial course.
