Vascular lesions are treated using selective photothermolysis. Both BBL (broadband light) and the Candela laser target oxyhemoglobin in blood vessels. The light energy is absorbed by hemoglobin, heating and coagulating the vessel wall, which is then naturally absorbed by the body. The dual approach allows treatment of vessels of different sizes and depths.
