Thread Lift
Minimally invasive facelift using absorbable mesothreads. Creates a scaffolding effect, lifting and fixing tissues in the desired position.
Mechanism of Action
Thread lifts use absorbable surgical sutures (PDO, PLLA, or PCL) with bidirectional cones or barbs that mechanically anchor and lift ptotic tissues. Once inserted, the barbs engage with the subcutaneous tissue, providing immediate lift. Over the following months, the threads stimulate neocollagenesis and neoelastogenesis around the thread matrix, creating a lasting support structure. The threads are fully absorbed within 6–12 months, but the collagen scaffold remains for 12–18 months.
When Is It Recommended?
Areas of Impact
Treatment Process
Consultation
Assessment of skin laxity and ptosis degree. Planning the number and type of threads needed.
Anesthesia
Local anesthesia — tumescent solution or nerve blocks are administered for maximum comfort.
Thread Insertion
Using a fine cannula, threads with bidirectional barbs are inserted through small entry points. The doctor positions and tensions the threads.
Recovery
Mild swelling and bruising for 3–5 days. Avoid facial massage and extreme expressions for 2 weeks. The lift is visible immediately.
